A/Prof. Tristan Kennedy

Associate Professor Tristan Kennedy is the Director of Research Training for the Department of Indigenous Studies at Macquarie University. He is currently working on projects that investigate Indigenous peoples’ experiences of digital citizenship including investigation into translocal Indigenous community building and Indigenous peoples’ participation in academia. His most recent research, sponsored by Facebook Australia, culminated in an industry report titled “Indigenous Peoples’ Experiences of Harmful Content on Social Media” which addresses the identification of negative and harmful content as well as the creation of digital counter-narratives by Indigenous peoples. Tristan is a managing editor of the Journal of Global Indigeneity and member of the newly established Centre for Global Indigenous Futures.
