Lise Waldek

Lise Waldek is a lecturer in Terrorism studies, Department of Security Studies and Criminology, Macquarie University. She has over 18 years professional experience in the security domain including roles in the UK Ministry of Defence, Home Office, and Defence Science and Technology Labs. Lise is chief investigator on research grants totalling over $890,000, including an ARC discovery grant investigating youth audience and online violent extremism; examinations of online right-wing extremism in Australia drawing on empirical datasets; the design of the NSW COMPACT countering violent extremism grants program.  Lise has fourteen peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She recently co-edited a special issue journal on ‘Political Emotions and Ideological Performance’, Emotions: History, Cultural, Society. Her forthcoming co-authored book on youth engagement and violent extremism will be published by Cambridge University Press Elements Series later this year.
